BATHROOM RENOVATION

BATHROOM RENOVATION

Working alongside RMB Renovations.

This project involved renovating an ensuite bathroom by expanding the walk-in closet through the reduction of the bathtub size. The client selected all fixtures and finishes, while I provided the design plans.

Floor Plans

By reducing the size of the bathtub allowed for additional space for the walk-in closet, as well as additional storage in the bathroom.

The bathroom renovation began with the demolition of the old shower, which had a leaking cement base with a tin membrane. Tiles were installed around the bathtub with careful spacing for mosaic details. In the shower, two types of membranes—Kerdi board and Kerdi fabric—were used due to COVID-related availability, applied with non-polymeric cement for waterproofing. Wood blocking was added inside the walls for grab bars, with precise measurements taken to ensure alignment during tiling. Final touches included the installation of a heated towel bar and a new shower door, while reusing the old doors and the in-floor heat thermostat.
